Romantic Sintra
95€
per personSintra descends from the mountains to the sea. Lush forests, dotted with eccentric palaces, with the blue of the ocean as a background. At the heart of this scenario is the town, a World heritage site since 1995, dominated by the two large conical chimneys of Sintra’s national palace. Come and enjoy the charms of Sintra!
As Vergílio Ferreira wrote, “Sintra is the only place in the country where history has become a garden”. The green of Sintra’s mountains was the canvas chosen for romanticism to draw some of its most extraordinary artworks, creating an unreal environment, close to a fairy tale. Pena’s palace and the 200 hectares of its park represent one of the ex-libris of romanticism around the world. No less peculiar is the vineyard in the region of Colares, with the unique terroir that creates a wine with a distinct identity.
And from Colares to the end of the earth it’s a leap. Cabo da Roca is the westernmost viewpoint over the Atlantic in continental Europe. These are just some of the reasons to come with us to discover the Sintra region.

- Visit to Sintra, a picturesque Portuguese village, located in the heart of the Sintra's mountains. Capital of romanticism, the cultural landscape of Sintra has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1995. Wander through the village that enchanted kings and inspired poets. Stroll its streets, discover the magnificence of Sintra's national palace, one of the few palaces built in the Middle Ages that has come almost intact to our days. Enjoy Sintra's famous traditional pastries – the queijadas and the travesseiros.
The next tourist attraction is the palace of Pena which is located on top of the hill and was designed by the artistic King Ferdinand II. The palace is an extravagant mixture of bright colours and beautiful stone sculptures. A real fantasy castle. In the park that surrounds it we can walk between gardens and lush forest with more than 500 species of trees from the most diverse points of the world.
From the palace we can see the Moorish Castle, built in the 9th century for protection, but unable to defend the Moors against the Christian crusades.
Afternoon : Sintra – Colares – Azenhas do Mar – Cabo da Roca – Cascais - Lisbon
After lunch departure to Colares a demarcated region since 1908 recognized for its table wine, coming from native grape varieties and original growing methods. Visit to the regional winery, where we can taste some of these wines. We proceed to Azenhas do Mar, a village encrusted on the cliffs by the sea, one of the most beautiful postcards from Portugal.
Visit to the westernmost point of continental Europe - the Cape of Roca. We also pass by Guincho beach and Boca do Inferno, enjoying the landscape along the coast. Drive to the cosmopolitan Cascais with a magnificent view over the bay and return to Lisbon by the Estoril coast with a panoramic view over the Casino and its gardens.
