Morning: Oporto - Guimarães
- Departure from Oporto after breakfast (8:30 a.m.)
- Visit to the medieval castle and the church of São Miguel where Dom Afonso Henriques (Portuguese first king) was baptized.
- Visit to the majestic palace of the Dukes of Bragança. This palace is still the residence of the highest figure in the state when visiting this region.
- Walking tour through the historic center, through secular streets, such as Santa Maria street, Oliveira square, one of the most beautiful in Portugal. Visit the church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira and photograph the Salado gothic front porch built to commemorate the battle of Salado. At lunch, enjoy Portuguese cuisine and the famous vinho verde.
Afternoon: Guimarães – Penha – Guimarães - Oporto
- We continue our walking tour through the historic center enjoying the architecture of its buildings and the mysteries that surround them. Let yourself be enchanted by Santiago and Toural squares, the medieval wall, sometimes swallowed but preserved inside buildings. Last site to visit is the leather area, where an old industrial nucleus linked to the production of the tanneries was located.
- Visit to the hill of Penha, including the sanctuary and the various belvederes. The return to Guimarães will be made in a modern cable car.
- Visit to José Guimarães International Arts Center, a former Guimarães market. Today it´s a building with modern architectural lines dedicated to contemporary art.
- Before returning to Oporto be delighted with traditional vimaranense pastry
